Pet Corner: Meet Classy Majestic Duckett
Classy, a purebred yellow lab with fox red highlights, warms the hearts of all who meet her. Neighbors tell Classy’s dog parents, Timothy and Karen Duckett, they enjoy seeing Classy in the yard as they pass by their house on Ramoth Church Road and out on walks along Walpole Street in front of Rodney E. Thompson Middle School. People often exclaim, “What a good dog she is!”
Two years ago, Classy’s sweet loving temperament as well as her beauty, convinced Timothy and Karen to breed her. “We wanted to spread the love!” Timothy says.
After searching online for a sire, but finding no acceptable suitors for Classy, they met breeder Diana Jagoda while at a local cafe. At the time she owned Southland Kennels in Stafford. Diana’s personal fox red lab Gamble, whose good looks and favorable demeanor fit the bill, sired Classy’s seven beautiful puppies.
Diana exclaimed, “They are honestly some of the cutest puppies I have ever seen!” Quite a compliment from a breeder for over 40 years.
Neighbors Tony and Jennifer Armstrong saw the “Lab Puppies for Sale” sign in the Duckett’s yard and contacted them right away. They got first pick. They chose the darkest male puppy and visited often, showering him with love, until the day came when Levi Blaze could go home with them. Levi loves life – doing zoomies in the yard, catching sticks, visiting his momma and friends, and riding in the car with his best friend, Tony!
The Ducketts and Armstrongs feel grateful to live down the street from each other so the “kids” can play together often.
While Timothy wants to breed Classy one more time, this time with a silver lab, Karen just smiles and says, “We’ll see!”
