A Celebration of Motherhood: Meet Mollye Hoffman

Mollye Hoffman is the mother of 4 kids Greyson (11), Weston (9), Katelyn (7), and Ava (5) and one Japanese Bobtail Cat Jack, named after Jack from the Titanic.

If Mollye isn’t in her kindergarten classroom, she is running her business Bounce Back Beauty LLC which combines her passion of education, fitness, and beauty by providing meal prep services, personal training, lash extensions, and early childhood consulting in her Embrey Mill neighborhood.

Mollye, originally from Rockville, Maryland, graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Mollye is fluent in American Sign Language and wanted to originally major in Deaf Education. However, since her college did not offer the program, she decided to pursue the Early Childhood Education program. A highly competitive program in which only 36 students were accepted, Mollye included. Till this day she implements some ASL into her everyday instructions.

Upon graduating she started her profession in education by teaching pre-kindergarten and headstrong programs from 2009 through 2016. She then transitioned to be a training and curriculum specialist for the Military Child and Youth Programs in Quantico Virginia. After receiving her promotion as a Program Director, her job relocated her to Okinawa Japan, where she lived with her children for the last three years.

It was in Okinawa, where they rescued their cat Jack, and started their adventures as a family of six. Some of her favorite memories from Japan are paddle boarding and going on long drives up north to get shrimp and rice.

After relocating back to the United States she briefly worked for the Army Child and Youth Programs at Fort Belvoir, before ultimately deciding it was time to go back to the classroom. That is how she found herself as a Kindergarten teacher in Stafford County. A job that allows her to educate and to be with her children.

Coming back from an overseas location can be very daunting, as there is so much logistics to think of. However, when it came to choosing Embrey Mill as her neighborhood, it was an easy choice to make for Mollye.

Embrey Mill has many amenities and accessibility to local places. Aside from the accessibility, she loves her neighborhood. Mollye says,

“My neighbors are always so helpful, and thoughtful. They go above and beyond to help me, even with small stuff like shoveling snow or blowing the leaves off my lawn. They know how hard I work while raising four kids.”

A few of her neighbors have also become her clients, she loves making them look and feel beautiful.

As a certified personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, one of her favorite things to do is weightlifting. An activity she does on the regular at the Jeff Rouse Center. She loves the friendly, encouraging, and helpful atmosphere.

She says,

“Everyone knows everyone!”

A frequent family outing is attending the neighborhood events. The kids are counting down for the summer to get back to swimming in their neighborhood pool and get their favorite snacks from The Grounds Bistro.

Mollye knows that being a single mother comes with its challenges. Having a supporting neighborhood has truly made all the difference. She believes in helping your neighbor, treat others as you would like to be treated, and always choose to be a good human.

She says, “You never know what someone else is going through, so choose to be kind to one another.”

Though her jobs, the gym, and her children’s activities take up a majority of her time, she finds the balance to do things just for her. She competes in the National Physique Committee Bikini Division and is currently off season preparing to transition to the NPC Wellness Division. When not in the gym you can find her playing co-ed soccer and is looking forward to the spring season.

Not only is Mollye a supermom, her kids are just as passionate as their mom. Greyson just won first place in his 5th grade continental Math League assessment. Weston is an aspiring artist, who loves to sketch old western scenes. Katelyn is passionate about gymnastics, and Ava enjoys playing with her dolls and helping Mommy whenever she can.

Their family wouldn’t be complete without their cat Jack, who loves to go for walks in his bubble backpack! Make sure to say “hi,” to Jack the Cat if you see them out and about the neighborhood.

Mollye is supermom; however, she credits all her success and what she can accomplish thanks to the help of her incredible Embrey Mill neighbors. Especially her best friend, Raven Morton.

Whether you are a single mom, stay at home mom, working mom, mom whose spouse is deployed, it truly takes a village in this journey of motherhood.

Happy Mother’s Day from the staff of Neighbors of Courthouse.

Liz Hensel - Content Coordinator

Liz has been living in the Stafford area for the last two years. However, her ties are rooted to Virginia, as Virginia was her first duty station while she was on active duty with the Marine Corps. Her husband is still on active duty, and they hope to make Stafford their forever home with their two daughters and two rescue dogs.

While serving in the Marine Corps and Marine Corps reserves has allowed Liz to see all parts of the country and the world, there is truly no place like home. Working on this magazine gives Liz the opportunity to meet her neighbors and the local businesses and more importantly, she gets to showcase them to others.

Liz is also the founder of a nonprofit called Leave No Paws Behind USA. She led the campaign to have legislative change to include pet transportation fees included in military moves. With her leadership, the bill was passed in the FY23 National Defense Appropriation Act.

Liz is excited to continue to write the stories of the FXBG Neighbors
