Podcasts You Should Know!

Listening to podcasts offers a plethora of benefits in today's fast-paced world. Firstly, podcasts provide a convenient way to absorb information while multitasking – whether commuting, exercising, or doing household chores. They offer a diverse range of topics, catering to individual interests, from education and news to entertainment and storytelling. Podcasts also serve as a platform for thought-provoking discussions and expert insights, keeping listeners informed and engaged. Moreover, they foster a sense of connection, allowing audiences to tune in to conversations that resonate with them. With the flexibility to choose from a vast library of content, podcasts empower individuals to curate their learning experience, making it a valuable and accessible source of knowledge and entertainment in our daily lives.
I have made a list of podcasts I think you should follow, and fun fact, the hosts, or at least one of the hosts are Virginia natives.

And That’s Why We Drink- A collaboration between true crime and the paranormal. The two hosts, Christine Schiefer and Em Schultz, are hilarious ladies who put their spin on the storytelling. Em is originally from Fredericksburg; you can often hear her shouting out about local shops in the area.

Virginia Outdoor Adventure- From the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia is a mecca for outdoor travel and adventure. Virginia Outdoor Adventures Podcast is the ultimate guide to local outdoor recreation, including hiking, camping, kayaking, and so much more.

D&D For The Deconstructed- an enchanting podcast journey where former, current, and non-believers unite for an immersive live playthrough of Dungeons and Dragons modules.

Latina She Served- is more than just a podcast; it's a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of remarkable community influencers. Join Liz Hensel, a passionate advocate with a heart for storytelling, as she sits down with trailblazers, activists, and change-makers who leave an indelible mark on their communities.

The Serious Writer Podcast - This is the perfect podcast for anyone interested in becoming a writer. No matter where you are in your writing journey – just starting out, working on proposals, looking for an agent, or marketing your book – This is the perfect platform to get some “serious” tips.

Liz Hensel - Content Coordinator

Liz has been living in the Stafford area for the last two years. However, her ties are rooted to Virginia, as Virginia was her first duty station while she was on active duty with the Marine Corps. Her husband is still on active duty, and they hope to make Stafford their forever home with their two daughters and two rescue dogs.

While serving in the Marine Corps and Marine Corps reserves has allowed Liz to see all parts of the country and the world, there is truly no place like home. Working on this magazine gives Liz the opportunity to meet her neighbors and the local businesses and more importantly, she gets to showcase them to others.

Liz is also the founder of a nonprofit called Leave No Paws Behind USA. She led the campaign to have legislative change to include pet transportation fees included in military moves. With her leadership, the bill was passed in the FY23 National Defense Appropriation Act.

Liz is excited to continue to write the stories of the FXBG Neighbors
