The Home Doctor: Transforming Homes, One Project at a Time

For nearly 12 years, Phillip Gehrig, founder of The Home Doctor, has been providing the community with expert exterior remodeling services. Specializing in windows, roofing, siding, gutters, doors, and attic insulation, The Home Doctor has earned a reputation for its unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. "The philosophy behind our business is simple: if we take care of our customers, offer good products, and fair prices, success will follow," says Gehrig.

Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Gehrig didn't set out to start a home remodeling business. What began as a summer job turned into a long-lasting career and, eventually, the founding of The Home Doctor. "I got into this line of work by accident, really," he admits. "But 12 years later, here we are, helping people transform their homes."

What sets The Home Doctor apart is its dedication to doing things the right way. "We don't chase making money," Gehrig explains. "We chase success by taking care of people and doing the right thing. The money will come with it."

This customer-first approach has earned the company a loyal following in Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and North Carolina, with plans to expand into Florida and the greater Philadelphia area soon.

One of Gehrig's most rewarding aspects of his work is interacting with homeowners and employees.

"Every day is different," he says. "It's always a new challenge, a new house, a new homeowner. I love that it's not the same repetitive thing day after day." This variety keeps the job fresh and exciting, and it's clear that Gehrig's passion for helping others drives the company's success.

The Home Doctor's growth has been impressive, but Gehrig still maintains a relaxed attitude when it comes to the ups and downs of running a business. "When it rains, it pours," he jokes.

"Maybe we have a tough week in sales, but that just means next week's going to be great. Every obstacle is easy to overcome if you give it some time."

Gehrig's message to the community is simple: "Give The Home Doctor a shot. Worst case scenario: you don't hire us. Best case scenario: we transform your home and make your dreams come true for a better price than the competition."

Outside of work, Gehrig enjoys life in Manassas, Virginia, where he lives with his wife and two dogs.

"We moved out here for more space, and we've really come to love the countryside," he shares. Though he grew up in the city, he now appreciates the quieter, more rural lifestyle.

As The Home Doctor continues to grow and expand, Gehrig remains focused on what matters most: his customers. "If you or someone you know needs our services, give us a call. We'd be happy to help."
