The Perfect Thanksgiving Tablescape

Hosting Thanksgiving this year and wondering where to start? While transforming your house into a Fall Fantasyland is not required, an understated but beautiful tablescape will set the perfect tone. Follow the below styling tips for a Thanksgiving dinner to remember!

Select A Color Palette
Opting for a range of oranges/tans/browns will give your table a rustic and traditional feel. For a more modern take, incorporate slate grey, dusty blues, or sage green. Going glam? Think ivory and pale pink with accents of metallic and shimmer!

Add Natural Elements
Fresh, seasonal wildflowers or plants not only look beautiful, but give off an inviting scent. Faux florals and garlands have come a long way and can look extremely realistic. Bonus points- they can be reused many times over, therefore being an economical choice if you have the storage space!
Dried palm, eucalyptus, and pampas grass can be harvested in nature and repurposed for future floral arrangements. Nothing says Fall like pumpkins! A cluster of assorted sized pumpkins and gourds look fabulous
on a tablescape, or use a metallic marker to write names on each as a place card.

Choose Seasonal Décor
Items such as holiday-themed place settings can take up precious storage space for the 11 months out of the year when it is not in use. By keeping a set of neutral-colored plates on hand, you can use these throughout each season and compliment them with your colorful seasonal décor.
Stores like Home Goods, Marshals, and TJ Maxx are great for finding well-priced décor. Keep an eye out for candle holders, table runners, garlands, and string lights. Pro tip: Shopping right after the holiday is the best time to pick up heavily discounted items on clearance. Just stock them away for the following year!
If you are in the mood to dig, thrift stores can yield many inexpensive and unique treasures.

Designate An Assigned Space For The Food

Featuring an extensive amount of décor on your table does limit the free space available for your serving ware. If you plan on a fuller tablescape, use a buffet or counter space to place the food platters. Prefer all the food within arm’s reach on the table? In this instance, pare down the amount of décor and lay out the serving dishes you will need for each item on the menu. Doing this in advance will ensure that you are not relegating Great Uncle Ned to the kid’s table to make
more room!
