Restaurant Spotlight: Zibibbo 73- Authentic Italian Trattoria

A Taste of Italy: Zibibbo 73 Trattoria Italiana & Bar

Did you know that Trattoria means “simple food?” Named after the ancient vine zibibb, which is the source of some of the most delicious wines from Italy, Zibibbo 73 has become a local favorite, enchanting patrons in Stafford, Virginia, with its warm ambiance and authentic flavors.

During soccer season, Zibibbo 73 is one of our go-to spots for a great lunch after back-to-back soccer games. They have something for every family member, even those picky eaters.

The staff exudes warmth, treating every guest like an extended family member. Their recommendations are not just suggestions; they are personal invitations to savor the best the kitchen offers.

My favorite dish is seafood in nature. When I told our server my preferred taste, he didn’t hesitate when he suggested I order the Linguine alla Pescatora, a pasta dish filled with shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari spread over a delicious spicy tomato.

At the first taste, I was transported to an ocean-view restaurant on the Almafi coast.

The velvety crimson elixir of a sun-kissed tomato sauce enveloped each strand, infusing the dish with a symphony of ripe tomatoes, garlic, and aromatic herbs. I truly can never have too much garlic.

A gentle whisper of extra virgin olive oil complements the succulence of the seafood. A hint of red pepper flakes adds a subtle heat that tantalizes the taste buds with every forkful.

Garnished with fresh parsley, this culinary masterpiece embodies the essence of coastal Italy, inviting diners on a gastronomic voyage through the briny depths.

Despite its modest exterior, Zibibbo 73 boasts a delightful outdoor seating area adorned with twinkling lights, creating a magical ambiance during evenings. The soft melodies of Italian classics add to the enchantment, creating an experience beyond a simple meal.

Zibibbo 73 is not just a restaurant; it's a journey through the flavors and spirit of Italy, offering a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For those seeking an authentic Italian dining experience with a touch of intimacy and nostalgia, this small restaurant delivers a big taste of “cibo delizioso”.. Delicious food.
With so many delicious options, I highly recommend Zibibbo 73 not only for a Valentine's Day dinner but for any dinner, any night of the day.

Liz has been living in the Stafford area for the last two years. However, her ties are rooted to Virginia, as Virginia was her first duty station while she was on active duty with the Marine Corps. Her husband is still on active duty, and they hope to make Stafford their forever home with their two daughters and two rescue dogs.

While serving in the Marine Corps and Marine Corps reserves has allowed Liz to see all parts of the country and the world, there is truly no place like home. Working on this magazine gives Liz the opportunity to meet her neighbors and the local businesses and more importantly, she gets to showcase them to others.

Liz is also the founder of a nonprofit called Leave No Paws Behind USA. She led the campaign to have legislative change to include pet transportation fees included in military moves. With her leadership, the bill was passed in the FY23 National Defense Appropriation Act.

Liz is excited to continue to write the stories of the FXBG Neighbors
