Adam Ahmad: A Shining Star at Colonial Forge - Balancing Leadership, Academics, and Athletics with Resilience and Accountability

Colonial Forge’s Adam Ahmad has shone brightly as a member of the graduating class of 2024 throughout his high school career.

From his initial role as junior class reporter to his current position as the senior class president, Adam’s life has been marked by a series of significant accomplishments and contributions. Beyond his academic prowess, he has showcased remarkable athletic ability by earning varsity letters in football, lacrosse, and both indoor and outdoor track, demonstrating a well-rounded commitments to sportsmanship.

Adam’s dedication stretches far beyond the sports arena; he has actively participated in many clubs including Habitat for Humanity club, Red Cross, Distributive Education Clubs of America, Health Occupations Students of America, and Muslim Students of America.

Academically, Adam’s achievements are praise-worthy, consistently securing him a spot on the academic honor roll for four consecutive years. His membership in the National Honor Society and Math Honor Society serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment to academic excellence, even in the face of the demanding schedule imposed by his extracurriculars.

But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t sometimes been a struggle.

Balancing the rigor of academics with the demands of being a student-athlete is no easy feat, and Adam openly acknowledges the challenges he’s faced. Long practices and hectic schedules often leave him with considerable amounts of homework, a formidable act he balances well.

“When I feel stressed or overwhelmed, I start thinking about everything I am thankful for. I know that regardless of how the situation folds, I will be okay in the big picture.”

His commitment to discipline and accountability shines through, particularly during moments of adversity. There were instances when, despite suffering from illness, Adam has powered through to complete assignments. It is this commitment that defines his approach to challenges, reflecting a resilience that goes beyond the athletic field and into his academic pursuits.

“One time I had a migraine and was throwing up but I had an assignment due that night so I had to power through and finish the assignment.”

Being the senior class president, Adam clearly has several leadership qualities. However, the one he claims as his main contributor to his success: accountability.

“It’s a quality that heavily influenced my success as a student. If I feel I could have done better on an assignment then I start feeling guilty- this pushes me to do my best on every assignment and prepare for every test to the best of my abilities,” Adam said.

This sense of accountability not only fuels his academic performance but also sets the standard for his leadership.

After high school, Adam will attend college and hopes to become a doctor.

“My highschool experience has prepared me. I’ve been able to learn how to manage my time efficiently and how to deal with a work load.”
