North Stafford High School Highlights: Celebrating Victories and Team Spirit at North Nation

North Nation’s winter sports have officially started, and here at North Stafford High School, we have started the season off strong with our girls and boys varsity basketball teams. Our boys varsity basketball team has started the season off with an incredible win against the Brentville District High School with a score of 88 to 21. The boys varsity team continued the season against Glen Allen High School with a close score of 52 to 64 but then continued with a win against C.D. Hylton High School with a win of 59 to 36. We look forward to seeing more out of our amazing boys varsity basketball team here at North Stafford!

Of course we haven’t forgotten about our varsity girls basketball team; they continued the amazing season with yet another win against Brentville District High School with a score of 44 to 33. With skill and endurance, the season continued with a win against Forest Park High School, scoring 46 to 28. As the season continued, we faced a loss at Battlefield High School with a score of 57 to 37, but with determination and our fantastic support here at North Nation, they got yet another win at Gar-Field Senior High School with a score of 44 to 31! We look forward to supporting our determined girls varsity basketball team at North Stafford.

Starting in November, North Stafford has been working hard to bring home victories with practice almost every afternoon and an uplifting cheer team to show support. Our basketball games have been the hype of every student here at North Stafford, and the bleachers are always filled with our supportive staff and students. Staff members, such as the amazing Ms. Pugh (special education teacher at North Stafford), stated that one of her favorite moments during the basketball games is watching our students run out during the opening announcements. She said and I quote, ¨I have several former students on the team so it was very exciting to see them do their individual run-ins and take the court!¨ - Ms Pugh

During our games here at North Stafford, we hold our level of support to a high standard. Our basketball team is full of joyful and enthusiastic individuals who always hype each other up and show incredible sportsmanship during the game, no matter the outcome. Before the games, one of the most notable moments for the boys and girls on the teams is when they run out and get flooded with high-fives by their peers. At North Stafford, we also show support by decking out in spirit wear. It can be seen that our incredible North Nation is decked out in our colors and, most importantly, face paint. If you’re a student who enjoys basketball, I highly encourage you to join the wonderful teams at North Stafford High School.
